What / Who is WESCoTech

The website name was derived from the initials of my name - Walter E. Sparling and the fact that I dealt with technology - get it?

My current working title is "Project Manager" for a small Architectural firm. This is a recent transition (June 2005) from my former occupation of 6 years as an IT manager for a large local Engineering firm. I will continue I am sure to dink around with computers and web stuff when I am not at my full time job. I have a varied background in various technical arenas. I have been a CADD drafter / trainer, a Mechanical Designer - even went to school for Mechanical Engineering and Architecture. I have owned my own computer consulting and sales firm (6 years) and currently do limited Tech Support and web publishing as a side line for some small businesses as well as my current employer. This latest move in my career took me away from my long term job as an IS (Information Systems) manager for a 60+/- person Electrical / Mechanical Engineering and design Build firm. I handled all computer issues, including hardware and software upgrades, network and equipment troubleshooting / repairs as well as all in-house software / technology training. I also maintained the companies website and Intranet. This has all changed, as I embark on my new career in Architecture - something I struck out to do 20 years ago.

In my spare time to reduce stress, I do computer gaming.
